Hello all.  My newly acquired W123 Diesel has a driver's seat that reflects 313,000+ miles of abuse.  It's ridiculous.  I have never sat on anything so shot... except maybe a bean-bag chair in college.  Anyway, I've been poking around on EBay for a seat.  I have not been impressed with what I have found.  My goal is not to replace this seat with another seat that is only partially worn out.

My question is twofold:  1.  What is the most cost effective way to get the seat repaired?
and
2.  Will any other chassis seat work in the W123 body?

Thanks in advance.

If you want to keep your seat then the pool noodle rebuild is a good option. http://www.mercedesshop.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=118422&highlight=pool+noodle

W126 front seats will work with some minor modification and are a really nice upgrade. Unfortunately the W126 models rarely use interior colors common to the W123's.
