I''ve had a Check Engine light twice on two different cars. The first time it was a loose gas cap that reset days after I found the problem. The second time I needed a new O2 sensor. The car had 16,000 km on it at the time. I was told that some O2 sensors can fail particularily in the spring when a drastic season change occurs. Either way your "R" must still be under warrantee and should cost you $0 at the dealer. There could be any number of other problems that only a code can point to.
