[X(]My R350 currently has 16000 miles and check eninge light came on, has this happened do some of  guys?  What was the problem??I am taking it to the dealer this weekend and see what is going on.  I think it is too soon for that to happen.

If could be anything from scheduled regular maintainance to total engine failure. Who knows really without the code.

Last poster was correct. The car needs to be checked out with a computer. Many local auto parts places will do this for free.
Sometimes it can be something as small as a loose gas cap.

I''ve had a Check Engine light twice on two different cars.  The first time it was a loose gas cap that reset days after I found the problem.
The second time I needed a new O2 sensor.  The car had 16,000 km on it at the time.  I was told that some O2 sensors can fail particularily in the spring when a drastic season change occurs.
Either way your "R" must still be under warrantee and should cost you $0 at the dealer.
There could be any number of other problems that only a code can point to.

My R had the CE light come on at 15k miles...it was the camshaft position sensor.  No other indication something was wrong except for the light.  Good luck!
