The R has been wholly unreliable for us.

The latest after it's required 2nd alignment in under 40k mi. it needs 3 new tires in addition to the 7 we have already replaced....  Dealer is blaming "bad roads"

Anyone else with this?

We have had a littany of electrical problems, with "spare bulb" errors SRS warning lmps, check engine lights, the hatch problem, KEY FOB failures, Radio fading in/out, etc, etc, etc,

you live in new york and not in colorado i think.

not unless the dealer is located in rocky mountain high.

tell them it's because of bad alignment. let them pay for the tires.

Two aligments in 40k miles isn't that crazy, not good but not unimaginable if driving on bad roads. Can tires be rotated on this model? How about inflation? That is lots of tires, I hope it is covered by warranty.

the tire itself is not included on warranty.

it will be under "subsequent" damage on submission of claim.

labor and materials can be shared. customer can pay 100% for the labor while it will be 30% and 70% share on materials.

the 70% will be paid by the dealer and not the mercedes-benz since it's a service related item.

We have had alignment problems on our 2007 R350 since the day we picked up the vehicle. The dealer blames it on the aftermartket tires and wheels (22" Drive one piece) that they installed. They have replaced the tires 2 times now and each time the alignment is OK for about a day or two and they immediately goes out again.

Car rattles more than a snake, is underpowered and for $50K, the thing could have at least had memory seats. WE have it 7 months now and have hated it for 6.

I wish it were that easy.
The dealer unequivocally refused to do anything…..  I spoke with the Service Manager and the GM.  They told me I should have rotated every 6 – 7k miles, although that is not what the service manual says.
I have called the MB customer service number and they told me it is up to the dealer to report to them “the cause” of the problem; I am still waiting for a return call.
I have also noticed the driver’s side of the car is higher than the passenger.
The dealer said it was designed that way “to accommodate the weight of the driver.”
Does not seem right to me.
My overall ownership experience with MB has been horrible.
Anyone have Dr. Z’s email address?  I’d love to share it with him.
