CVVMD -> D300 Turbo Environmental Control Problem (5/6/2008 10:02:35 AM)
|
Greetings Diesel Fans, Perhaps someone can help me with an ongoing problem with my D300 Turbo Diesel (Der Panzer). The vacuum diaphragms in the cabin's environmental control valves system fail frequently. This causes more problems than just hot-air being blown from air vents with the AC on, it also prevents the engine from shutting down. I bought the car new and have replaced the environmental vent control valves every-third year since 1985. The last time it failed (Thursday, 01 May 2008), I just bypassed the vacuum regulator and control valves. Two-Questions: 1. Does anyone know if bypassing the system will cause a problem down-stream? 2. Does anyone know if there is an after market replacement for the vacuum regulator and environmental valve control system? (PS: Since bypassing the environmental control, the transmission in the Panzer now up-shifts and down-shifts without a humongous delay.) -Oncdoc-
