Hey all,

I am thinking of buying a 2002 CL500 with 80,000 miles on it for $24,000. The person im buying from is the 2nd owner, the first was a lease. Just wondering if anyone can give me advice on how reliable this car is. Is it maintanence prone? And is maintanence expensive? Thanks!

I have an '02 CL500 and yes these cars have issues. They mainly pertain to electronics and the ABC system. If you do purchase this car, you want to be sure you get a good warranty as a several thousand repair bill is not unusual. I personally would not buy such a car with 80k miles on it: I don't care if I could buy it for $15,000. I would look for something newer with less miles.  Good luck.
