The Passion Of The Christ
I have not. I'm waiting for the book.
What are the chances that 2,000 years from today people will be worshipping a persecuted [prosecuted] Son of [fill in yourself] who resurrected Himself [from prison] and was "reborn" to lead the flocks again? What if His name were Jimmy Bakker?
Lean on whatever makes you most comfortable, dude.
Everyone has an opinion,, The movie is what you believe it is.
For those who believe, no proof in necessary
For those who don't no proof will be sufficient.
Just watch the movie and be willing accept the results from what you believe.
i thought it could have been more realistic. i mean really, it looked like jesus was being tickled with that whip. and where was the blood? just a trickle here and there, when they should have got the firehose out
i'm with lugnut, i'm waiting for the book to come out, though they say a movie is never as good as the written version . . . . . . .
vettdvr,
I mean no offense by this (or anything else I say) nor am I trying to start an argument of any kind, though I think debating is sometimes cool. Also, you can't sense my genuine concern for your feelings by only reading my words. This would "sound" a lot kinder if we were face-to-face.
Mel Gibson wasn't trying to prove anything with his movie. Indeed, it proves nothing. He was merely retelling biblical stories. He used artistic license, or his interpretation of a combination of the Old and New Testaments to be more precise ... and PC. Am I wrong?
As we all know, people aren't born with faith. Neither are they given faith at a school nor do they acquire it by age like they do maturity or a girlfriend nor do they win it by completing some task. How did you acquire your faith? Are mere words offered in a ceremony that powerful to you?
I've always been curious about when it dons on a person that they have faith. Faith in something that someone else offers them as truth that's based solely on that person's faith. Do Catholic nuns beat it into you with a wooden spoon as you grow up? Do your parents force it down your throat?
I'm being facetious here because that's how I am, but I am truly curious about this. If this is too personal, don't answer and please accept my apology for asking.
