Thanks, Sleepwalker
I just took the car to see how much it would cost to replace the c.converter because it is making a rattling noise. The mechanic said before the converters are replaced I need to find out what is causing the c.converters to melt. He also stated the white smoke is not the smell of oil burning from the deposit that came from the exhaust. Does this make any sense to anyone?

If white smoke coming out of exhaust, it may be that you have put in too much new oil, new oil change (is it an old car?), oil seeping into chamber when on a slope over night?
If it is new oil this can happen and disappears after about 3 months. Or it could be something else.
Hope this helps.

My CLK has passed the 200k mark; why have I not had ANY of these problems?
What are you people doing with these cars, racing them? letting them go all year without an oil change? letting kids work on them?
Blue?
