I have been wanting to upgrade the wheels on my 2001 CLK320.

Will the rims from a 2004 S500 with 225/55/17 tires fit the same lug pattern and clear everything on the CLK320?

I have searched around looking for any guides as far as what wheels are interchangeable with no luck.

No it won't.

The S class has a different offset than the CLKs.  Hub-centric spacers are available to help with the fitment but not recommended by Mercedes.

Also the bolt sizes are different despite sharing the same bolt pattern.  The larger vehicles like the E, S, CL, SL classes, etc uses a wider lug which is 14mm wide.  The smaller vehicles like the C, SLKs, CLKs, uses 12mm wide lugs.  This would mean there is an excess of 2mm around the bolts for the wheels to give.  This is not safe and definately not recommended.

Hope this helps

Great information, thank you for your help!

I have seen many sets of wheels for sale on eBay, most claim they will fit any Mercedes vehicle, but I am sure they are not taking into consideration bolt size etc.  To your point, they may fit but have a bit of slack and clearly *not* recommended.

I will focus my searching on the C/CLK/SLK packages.

Yes, wheels from the C, CLK, SLK and W210 E Classes are interchangeable.
