The right and left turn signals don't activate anymore. The wipers still work. Fuse is still OK. Where else should I look for problems?

Thanks,
George

I have an 81 300 D and no one could find the problem...If yours is similar...on the console beside the drivers seat, I pulled out my hazard unit...you don't take the console out for this or the window controls...they just pop out and in...anyways, the flasher unit is there...the black and red thingy just unplugs at that point....When all the wreckers had different from mine...I pulled out the tube light that lights the hazard button and lo and behold,,,my signals and hazard lights work perfectly...hope yours is similar...If not,,,the whole unit at the column is also very easy to replace and my wrecker actually put his in to see if that was the problem and it wasn't ...good luck

Thanks; excellent idea. I have fixed the problem. The hazard has never worked on this car, and it was switched on by mistake, but didn't do anything. I guess that deactivates the turn signals at the same time. How did you pop out the switch? I'd like to check it.

Hi again , glad its fixed...if you go to www.car-stuff.com/mercedesturnsignal , and type in "hazard flasher switch...and blow up the picture for the pin up and down view...you will see that there is a piece of spring metal at both ends...gently pry up one end under theblack housing and it pops out...same for the window switches...bring it with you if replacing because there are several different pin arrangements... the black thing in the middle of the bottom is the light which you just turn and pull out...good luck
sorry for my lack of technical words but I've been able to fix most of my car just by looking at the parts pictures on the internet...lots of experimentation.
