On my 2000 C280 and 2002 E320 i have the "speed control volume" because i find it extremly annoying. The other day i was driving with my girlfriend in the C280 and the radio was on about the 5th knotch and when i got on the highway and was doing about 60mph the music was blasting in our ears.The radios look the ame and does anyone know how i can dissable it on both my cars? Do i need a dealer or independent or can i do it myself? Thank you

you will have to go into the radio and change the version coding. Unless you have an SDS, you may not be able to to it. Version coding can be changed to either lower the amount of volume increase or to turn it off completely

I do not have a SDS so would I be better off to take it into a dealer and let them do it? How much will this cost?

at my dealer we do it for free, but it does depend on the tech and the service advisor also. I dont charge to do it because its just a courtesy thing.

What dealership do you work at?. Are you a MB Dealer or independent?
