hello, i have an 89190e 2.6. car will not go forward, only goes in reverse. when transmission is in a forward gear, acts as if in neutral. just looking for ideas of how to fix besides replacing whole tranny. fluid is very clean. thanks for any ideas and info.

the teflon ring on the piston of brake band 2 is damaged. just replace it.
you will see it from the side of the transmission...right in front of the governor. it's the round cover. there's two strong springs inside, so remove it with caution. the lock ring is on the side.
do not replace the transmission not unless the casing is broken.
