Default 2001 S430 Airmatic pump wont stop!

I am having a problem with my S430. The airmatic pump in front of the front right wheel will not shut off, and required me to pull the battery cable as it was draining the battery -and the pump was about to catch fire! I must add that i had the car in the shop the same day... and this problem started the 1st time i drove it away from the shop. I just had the front brakes and rotors replaced. Could this somehow be related? Does anyone think that they mechanic could have accidentally done something to cause this? The pump is now most likely totally shot( due the the burning smell) if anyone can assist with this before i call them tomorrow and have it towed in. i would greatly appreciate it.

replaced brakes and now pump , i would say no they did not do anything to cause this . you might try to replace relay in Right Front SAM box. right side under hood back by firewall

i think its relay O they are labeled under the relay. pull that then your good. usually when the pump continuosly runs it can be because the relay burned up. and then the motor keeps running and burns itself out too. if it gets hot enough the electrical connector will melt together and that sucks.

Default brakes and suspension related?

my hubby also had just done brakes a week before these suspension issues and was wondering if somehow the raising of the car and the hanging of the wheels and load change could have elevated or caused the problem with the suspension having failures...? any really sharp benz techs out there know if these are related?? help! please!

yes alot of times if the front suspension strut are starting to leak air and you raise up the car they can leak, but will fill back up when put back on the ground. the technician did nothing to cause your problem. just coincidence.

Yes this happens sometimes with the air suspension cars that have some miles on the struts. What usually fixes it is lifting the car again and get the bag lined back up then lowering. But it most of the time it doesn't work and you need struts. Just part of owning one of these cars. $$$$$
