So I was going to work from college Friday afternoon. It was drizzling a bit, still very much bright out. I had just taken a left turn from a stop light and was in the middle lane trying to gain speed after the turn. Driving a four cylinder diesel obviously takes time to speed up. The car in front of me, a blue Ford Taurus didn't have its brake lights on, but the center inside brake light was functioning, though hard to see.
As I was speeding up, going about 35mph, I noticed that the Taurus's brake light lit up, so I hit the brake like a normal stop, (nothing sudden) and started to hydroplane forward! I had a few seconds and enough room infront of me to think, "oh sh!t! Insurance!". I came about two feet from rear-ending the Taurus. While I was hydroplaning to a stop, I also looked in my rear view mirror and saw an older red Nissan Frontier hauling @ss toward me! I was like, "Oh God, she isn't gonna stop!" I rested my head on the head rest and from there my car felt like a bumper car.
Her passenger bumper and grille assembly were pushed in 1.5 to 2 inches, the headlight almost dangling and the hood showed damage with an inch gap between the fender and itself. It's quite possible that her radiator may have been damaged as well. My car suffered only a centimeter offset of the passenger side bumper, a broken plastic truck handle, and a small ding where her truck hit my trunk leaving a red spot. I'm very suprised to see such an older car take a beating (10-20mph collision) and sustain very minor damage compared to her 90's model truck Frontier.

I would have just asked her for 500 bux and called it a day. See u wanting to garge the car and not driving it got u. Thats fates way of saying drive the car dont park it.

remember newer isn't always better.
In the auto industry, all newer means is a new way to add more dollars per car in the rich guy's pocket while cutting the production cost which means using less and or cheaper material which may not be as sturdy or reliable as the car it replaces. But who cares, throw in a bunch of glitchy computers and a bunch of airbags and you got yourself a new car that will sale like hot cakes. As long as the top dawgs get rich right? How else is that GM executive is going to buy that new Roll-Royce and Bentley that's coming out?
Even the older E-classes of those days were tanks. The material that the germans used was basically unmatch and still to this day is a lot sturdier than most. I think I already used the BMW example case with one of those "new" cars.

Exactly and the pont is those cars are strong and safe still. I have that 66 dodge truck solid steel everything but if i hit something i end up with a solid steering wheel in my face.

once the car is out of your control, 0.5 second seems to last forever.
you will realise that there's something that you could do, which you couldn't.
i once use the customer's beetle to buy two acetylene gas, and fit the heavy tank inside.
from out of the blue, this toyota pickup suddenly appears in front of me, and i got a good 50 feet chance to stop.
slam the brakes...no brakes!!! the turtle just keeps on gaining speed!
i choose the least damage that i could hit, and ram his rear wheel rim. a perfect job.
herbie lost half of his head... toyota, a small scratch on the rim, but turned 90 degrees.

Haven't called my insurance company yet. Still not sure if I should bother.. eventhough I don't think I should be paying for anything.
