Hello! I have a 2000 SLK which I purchased in Oct 2004. I had it inspected at a local Mercedes dealership before purchase. During this inspection they advised I would soon need a steering wheel shock. I am now experiencing a noise when I turn the steering wheel, something between a squeek and a grind. Is this the steering shock or possibly something else? If it is the steering wheel shock, is this something I can change myself? Thanks for your help!

i can't hear the noise, but the shock....yes you can do it.
