I found out from the dealer today the steering rack went out on my 2000 ML320. Has anyone else had this issue. Dealer part is $1700 NOT including labor. I already know I will not be purchasing this item from a dealer and I will be installing it myself, however just wondering if this has happened to anyone else...if so did you get your part anywhere other than a dealer?

FYI....THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL HOUSING HAS TO COME OUT TO REPLACE THE STEERING RACK!!!
