Hello,
Unfortunately, I have to ask if anyone knows the website where the point system for tickets received in Maryland is posted?
Also, does anyone suggest getting a lawyer, or representing yourself in court? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks very much!
Now I have to figure out if I should get a lawyer or just throw myself at the mercy of the court.

how fast were you driving anyway?
why was it that serious as going to the court?
in jubail to dahran highway there is a signpost that you must drive at least more than 120km/h or else you will get a slow driving ticket! i got it twice because my car was a toyota pick-up hilux. i have tried flooring it, but the poor thing just growl down.
in iraq highway you must overspeed too. faster than bullets if possible.

I would at least talk to a lawyer before going to court. When you want the judge to favor your position you don't want him yelling at you for wasting his time.

don´t even tell me about speed tickets...
yesterday I was going to the dentist, and the radars were changed on Sunday. My friends told me to take care, but I forgot. So I was at about 120km/h in a 80km/h track and when I saw the radar´s sensors it was too late for me to slow down...
I can only hope that the radar wasn´t working yet, because they just placed it there...

Are you talking about an automatic radar that takes your picture and mails (posts) a fine to you? If so, I hope you smiled.

In the US, we have the option to go to court and fight for the ticket, because that is what the ticket means. Signing the ticket only means the person will appear in court, if required.
For some offense, such as reckless driving, DUI (driving under influenece), etc... court appearance is mandatory.
But as for speeding (usually 20mph below), stop sign, red light, these are optional. The person can either pay the fine (bail) or setup a trial date and have the judge decide. The good thing is, if the cop doesn't show up on trial, the ticket is dismissed.

that was a good law Mio. it will really prevent serious accident... as what the purpose is i pressume.
300 people die in chin@ every month due to traffic accident alone.

yes I was talking about an automatic radar.
it was weight sensors on the floor that determinate your speed and then if you are over the speed limit it takes your picture.
I hope it didn´t take my picture. And I sure wasn´t smiling!!

there was this one case in korea where they mail the violation ticket to the home address.
the manager was beating the red light on a hurry with a girl and the camera got it all. the wife opens it and saw the sad truth which leads to divorce. they should at least conceal the girlfriend's face, but did not.
the traffic department was sued and paid a lot!

Now wait a minute! So this married guy found a babe to play around with and then blamed the traffic department because he got caught while he was breaking the law? He sued the traffic department and won the lawsuit? Am I in a cartoon?

that's exactly what happens.
he say's they have the right to punish him for breaking the law, but no right to break a marriage. korean traffic dept acknowledge the mistake and from that time... they avoid making such mistake.
means we are safe there

This was obviously in South Korea but it's so silly it reminds me of the North Korean leader El Big Bong, or whatever his name is.

the same thing already happened here in Brazil, sleepwalker!!
after that, most of the radars take the picture from behind, so the person who is driving is not visible.
and the few ones that take the picture of the front of the car don´t show the interior of the vehicle (they edit the photo)

in that case, you don't need to worry about smiling when they took the photo

which you will be recieving anytime from now.
that sensor on the road is called loop trigger.
› Introduction to How Red-light Cameras Work
Induction Loop Triggers
the main trigger technology used in red-light systems is the induction loop. An induction-loop trigger is a length of electrical wire buried just under the asphalt. Usually, the wire is laid out in a couple of rectangular loops resting on top of each other (see diagram below).
This wire is hooked up to an electrical power source and a meter. If you've read How Electromagnets Work, you know that when you send electrical current through a wire, it generates a magnetic field. Positioning the wire in concentric loops, as in any electromagnet, amplifies this field.
remember. you learn it from me
the radar uses different signal similar to your distronic system.

Some areas have had success with radar, laser or air-tube sensors.
One emerging trigger mechanism is the video loop. In this system, a computer analyzes a video feed from the intersection. As the computer receives each new video frame, it checks for substantial changes at specific points in the image. The computer is programmed to recognize the particular changes that indicate a car moving through the intersection. If the light is red and the computer recognizes this sort of change, it activates the still cameras. The main advantage of this system is you don't have to dig up the road to install it, and you can adjust the trigger areas at any time. Essentially, it is a virtual inductive-loop trigger.

What if a friend is driving the car and the babe is in the back seat lying down with the married guy on top of her and her face and the guy's butt shows up?

Maybe they should flip? That way they could see her butt.

Wow. Small world.
A similar law was recently enacted here in Georgia. No pics of faces allowed. Even if they have a pic with a face it can't be used in court. I was told all you have to do is go to court and deny it was you driving and the case will be dismissed. The prosecutor has the burden of proving who was driving and without an admission of guilt, he/she can't prove who was driving.
I thought when the camera thing was enacted they were allowed to ticket the activity and it didn't matter who was driving? The registered owner always got the ticket. They were slam dunk cases for the prosecution. Not so in Georgia anymore.
I love it when a revenue stream from traffic violation enforcement dries up. The flop side is a new one will be created before long.
