soft top control mudule

i have my car sl 500 check by the dealer, malfunction of my roll bar and softtop control . need to replace control module and it cost 4,000 dollars any body could help me what should i do, or help me were i can find control module in the car. please help

THE CONTROL UNIT IS UNDER THE REAR RH SEAT. HAS THE CAR BEEN ON MB DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER TO CHECK FOR OTHER FAULTS. IF IT IS THE CONTROL UNIT YOU CAN GET RECON ONES IN EUROPE FOR AROUND $1500.  

 

What year is your car? We may have one for much less...

I notice that in January you had a soft top module problem--I seem to have same

type problem with warning lights for top, roll bar and no window operation. What were your symptoms?  Can you share how you resolved situation?

I had the same diagnosis from the dealer when I took it in because my soft top would go up. I then raised the soft top manually and it has worked fine since. I was told that raising it manually may reset the computer, who knows?

Can you advise as to whether you resolved your problem and the cost?
