Has anyone seen one of these yet? They are popping up everywhere in Germany as taxi cabs. So I guess between A-class through G-class (minus F-class (which I doubt will ever be on a Mercedes due to Ford)) is covered. Then add the S-class and variants.

Don't think they've made it to this side of the pond. They look the the new KiaSpectra5 to me; which I don't like.

Nah they are not in the states yet. I don't know what's going on with this "crossover" fad but the market is starting to become so saturated with them that they all look the same. Have the same body lines, engines, just different names on them. It's like a plain white cotton shirt with a price range of $2 to $200 with no difference besides who name is on it.

Well word is that they are thinking about not importing the B-class to the states. Darn. I hope they change thier minds. I've seen a few as taxi cabs over here in Germany already

That would really really suck if the United States doesn't get it. Its here in Canada, and I already test drove it.

I think the USA is the last to get everything due to the stupid rules they try to make up to attempt to give the American hoopties *cough* I mean new cars a fighting chance.

My wife is getting one shortly. She has a four year old 325 BMW, but she liked the B class much more. Your up higher so you can see in traffic, the seat is more comfortable, it has leg room for teenages in the back, it has a hatch for the two Jack Russel dogs (she rejected the Touring). Its cheaper than the 325 as well. She's getting the big sunroof, we thought a gimic, but its very nice when open, it adds a feeling of great space to the car, without wind nosie.

most new American cars have daytime running lights too. Some you can't shut off.

True.
Remember Ford must keep the cars affordable.

i just test drove one and was impressed. however, i don't think i will buy one. my biggest complaint (and this applies to the A class, as well) is that it doesn't look like a benz. at least with the B class' competition, the bmw 1 series, they look like a bmw. i'm trying to decide between a porsche cayenne or C280 4matic wagon.

One thing is dont compare it to an A class. Its much bigger and driver better.
The Turbo has some real go esp if you drive it in the "tip-tronic" mode.

We test drove the BMW, it was boring and unispiring. The BMW grille looks goofy.

Also drove an Alfa, it has shocking gear change. Jurks like buggery.

BTW, the best "tip-tronic" Ive driven is the Audi TT with the DSG, It rocks.

The B Class does have a few small things I dont like but otherwise it very good.
