S320 speed limitation

Hi...
a friend of mine got S320 gasoline model (what a beautifull car !!!) who was able to go throught 260 km/h....the trouble is that the speed is limited now to 220 km/h !!!! this trouble comes when he changed the original dashboard (after a dramatic crach) with another (i think it's for s430)....anyone can show me where is the mistake?
