rims size for 1998 s500 four door

I want to put some rims on my 98 s500. Its a 4 door, stock suspension, I want to know what width and offset would be appropriate for 19's and 20's. Also, what recommended tire size. I want to try and have a thick lip, so the max width and lowest offset without rubbing would be what i'm looking for.


What you guys running on ur rides?

Right now, I'm running 225/55/17's. I'm going to stagger them with 23/55/17's on the front, and 255/50/17's on the rear.

I always believe, "to each their own" but I think that huge rims and tires takes away the class from your S-Class. Just my opinion. I like to keep the overall diameter the same as stock: 27.1" But that's just me.
