I am considering purchasing a 2004 E320. How much below dealer invoice for the base car and accessories is a reasonable deal.
Regards,
Bob
Hi Bob, I too am likely to purchase a 2004/05 E320 CDI later this year. As I understand it, MB dealers have gone to no haggle pricing and there are no discounts anywhere. My friend just bought a 5 series BMW for 10K less than a similar E320 and the MB dealers would not negotiate. You might google discounts on MB which I will do to at least try and try out of state dealers. I bought a 100K warranty for my Odyssey from a dealer in TN by mail saving $500.
You can save 7% off MSRP with European delivery (i don't know the details re:shipping but I think it's included) which offsets the Ohio 7% sales tax![]()

I am considering a 2004/05 E320 Sedan (loaded) as well.
I heard that it is possible to negotiate with a deler (if you ordering car) on about $300-$400 over dealer invoice (about $3K - $3.5K off MSRP) and let dealer keep his 3% Total MSRP holdback.

If anyone knows of an MB dealer who will sell at $500 above invoice, PLEASE post the name of that dealership. I will make many phone calls prior to my purchase, with those kinds of savings it would be well worth it to order the exact car you want and have it trucked to your door for about $600 cross country. The MB dealer could probably get an even better rate or may ship free to "earn your business". This seems too good to be true. I don't want to get my hopes up, this could be an urban legend. It's after midnight, but first thing in the A.M. I am going to call a few dealers, I might not get to sleep tonight thinking about this! [QUOTE=II Kings 9:20]

As I specified before, there are dealers that would agree to sell MB in the range of $200-$400 over invoice.
I was involved in new car purchasing before (for export mostly)and it is not that difficult
.
First let the salesrep (or better yet sales manager) know that you know his markup and would let him make a fair profit as well as quick and headache free sale of the vehicle.
To calculate the actual invoice price and calculate dealer profit - see my post:
"MB Dealer Holdback / Profit / Invoice $$$"
After figuring out how much dealaer makes on the deal, you can make him an offer in about $300 over invoice price, which still leaves a fair profit to the dealer as well as makes you happy
.
This method works the best on the new (especially prepaid/partially prepaid) orders from Germany, when dealer does not have to invest his funds while keeping this deal as "special non-public agreement" :)
I have a couple references for this kind of deal and I let you know as soon as I close my deal (hopefully very soon).
I hope this info helps.

Just purchased a Brilliant Silver/Charcoal 2004 e320 on 2/28/04 with the following options:

I live in Nashville, Tennessee but bought a new 03' E320 over the phone from a dealership in Los Angeles, CA last June. They knocked $4,700 off the MSRP!!! It cost me $750 to have it shipped on auto carrier. All I did was call my contact up at the dealership, told him the color and options I wanted and he located me one within a few days. It took another few weeks to get the funds to him and get it shipped to my front door. I learned about these deals through autospies.com. Sign up for this weekly newsletter. It's amazing the information you get from it and what you learn about the upcoming new autos before anyone else.
To get the great deal, contact Brian Moore at CalStar Motors in Glendale California. 818-246-1800.
