QUESTIONS ON YOUR BENZ's I CAN TRY TO HELP!! - Page 3

Hi my 1999 SL500 has an annoying AC fan motor noise, I removed the wiper, and the AC filter, I can see through the vents that the clip that holds the fan motor in place is loose causing the motor to move when I turn corners causing the noise. I removed all the bolts I can see that hold the black plastic cover in place but I cannot remove it to access the fan motor, am I missing a hidden bolt or two. Please advise how to get access to the AC fan motor to replace the clip.... Thank you

I finally took my car to the dealership.  They are telling me it's the Left and Right Control units.  How does this differ from the CAN, or is it the same?  Is this normal for this to fail?
 
 
I see it...1999 C230 Kompressor.  I'm pretty sure what's happening with your car.  It's shutting down your CAN (Control Area Network) System and it's using your driver's window as a default, which is common.  My advice is to get checked at the dealership coz it's a little complicated than you think.  There are several components tied into the CAN System, and you don't want to pay unnecessary repairs from an Independent Shop or Gas Stations.  Dealerships use SDS, and they can diagnose CAN Problems on you car.  I can fix your car, but I'm here in VA., and I use the same diagnostic equipment as the dealership, and I charge a lot LESS!

I have an 05' S500 and I am getting a entry position do not drive error...  Cruise dont work and i cant see any of the menus on the speedo display. Can you tell me what would cause this? Also my cig lighter and rear auto trunk is not working....  Also i am having high beam issues on the right side headlight. It will come on for about 2 seconds then go off... I have the bi xenon.

there was no cd changer in the trunk, but the cables are there, my radio is working well...
i have two questions:
-if i get a cd changer, does it play cd burned at home or it have be the orginal...?
-isn't better to replace the original radio and put a sony cd radio for example....?

Thanks for offering help. I have a 2006 E350 4MATIC. My problem is this - When I steer sharply at slow speed I hear clicking sounds (fom the wheels?) and the engine lugs like it will die. This happens in reverse as well. Have you any experience with this?

You could actually buy an Alpine CD changer that is D2B compatible...it's a lot cheaper than the MB CD changer...

Hello Mar,Glad to have you here, I have a problem with my 2002 E320 the multifuction steering wheel is not working, i checked the fuse on the left side of the dash but it's still good, my radio still works,and also my horn isn't working, pls. if you can put in the right direction , and thanks for being there for the benz drivers of the world .

Thanks for the info on my S500. I'll see about getting the induction service done. Do you have anyway of finding vacumn leaks other then a visual inspection? Also one more problem (sorry!) when the car is cold it gets very "chuggy" when you try to hold a steady speed. once she heats up she's fine.

I recently purchased a 1998 Mercedes 230SLK230 Kompressor(supercharged) and was wondering if it requires a timing belt change? It has 85,000 kilometres. Also, do you recommend servicing the transmission? New filter and oil or not? If so where would I find the information on how to change the belt? Any assistance would bve appreciated.

My 94 e320 coupe is "surging" when stopped in gear and at idle out of gear.  I'm told I may need a new wiring harness. (I've read all the horror stories).  Is there only 1 maker of wiring harnesses, and is the best price $950?

I have a 1987 MB300E 4Matic which I bought in 1995.  Lately, I have had problems with its accelaration and loss of power to the point of stalling the engine and sometimes it's hard starting. I brought it to a Mercedes repair shop and they said my fuel pumps were not providing enough fuel to the engine, so we replaced them together with the fuel filter.  After installation, I still have the same problem.  The shop owner and mechanic suggested we clean the fuel tank and the fuel line, so we did.  However, after they have done that the problem still exist, although now they have eliminated the hard starting problem.  They now are recommending that we replace the fuel distributor and they assured me that his time the problem will solved.
 
Do you think their diagnosis is correct?  Would appreciate your advice on this before I get them to replace the fuel distributor.  I have already spent a considerable amount for the parts and labor and still the problem persist.  Just wanted to make sure they are on the right track before I spend more money for a wrong diagnosis.

hey man what are your thoughts on swaping  out my clk55  v8  for a cl65 v12 275.980... i know i will have to upgrade the trans and ecu you but just wondering if it will fit....figure if they can squeeze it in to a sl65  why not?  thanks

hello master and welcome, i having problems with my 2001 s500, my passanger glass was replaced and eversince i got it back from the shop now the car is acting up pretty bad, the car was jumpstarted thru the passanger side of the car underneath the passanger side carpet, and now whenever i lock the car with the remote key, the hazard lights go on the after a brief moment the alarm go on aswell as if i was pressing the panic button also the light for the heated seat remains on for a brief moment after the car is locked, which i have to do manually, i called the shop who fixed the window,they told me to take it to a mercedes shop and that if the problem is their fault they will fix it. but im concern to bring it to a mercedes dealer and pay 200 or more dollars just so they can tell me that is a bad relay or something, do you have any advise brother?

Hello! Maybe this is a rudimentary question, but I hope someone can help. I have a 2003 e-klasse 200 Kompressor. I wonder how I remove the cover for the front right speaker (in the fron door) It´s scilent and I want to check if the cables to the speaker are attached or not, or if the speaker is broken. Is the cover a click thing or are there screwes, well how do I do I take the cover away without breaking the interiour? Thanks in advance!

I got a 2004 CLK55.
When i take off i hear clicking sound coming from the rear of the car.Only on start after i hit a few mph it goes away.If i would stop put it in reverse and go slowly i would hear click,click,and the faster you go it stops.Any ideas?I'm shooting for cv joint or bushings???

I have an '82 300D.  When I turn on the key the glow plug relay buzzes.  I does not fuction the glow plugs.  I purchased one on EBay and gor the same results.  I changed the glow plugs same sound.  Any suggestions where to go next?

I think you are my last chance to get advise as i have tried everywhere even trying to understand the MB "WIZ" diagrams
I have a 1999 CLK 230K and both the front and rear fog lamps have stopped working.
Checked the bulbs. No power at the lamps. checked the boot cable. Checked the fuses and both are ok.
Tested that there was power to both sides of the fuses.
Any Ideas
Where do the wires go on the out side of the fuses. Is there another connector.
could it be the Switch and if i disconnect it will i need the onboard computer reset
I am confused
