Question About SAM's

Hey Everyone!

I have 2004 S430 and I have couple things I would like to ask about SAM's.

I know that my car has three SAM's - one under back seat, and two under the hood. I need to change all three of them, so the question IS:

-Are all three SAM's the same and will they work as long as I do the coding?????

-Will SAM's from any 2000-up S-Class work????

...also i noticed that two of the three fuseboxes are the same, the third one thats under the hood seems to be wider

coding or no coding, they will work. left sam no need for coding.
coding is needed so it can recognnize some functions.

K, i have three SAM's that been pulled from under back seat, can i use two of them under the hood. DO you know which ones exactly need the programing????

What happened that caused the need to replace all 3 SAMS?

no. they got different part numbers and functions...although they look similar.

you need to replace all three sams and all three need to be programmed. you cant interchange the sams. replace all three.
