Hi, My 89 260E, likes to shut down on me when ever I come to a stop does anyone know what the problem could be? I am driving then it starts to idal really low then eventually shuts off.

Hi there is an fule cut off solionoid stops running on when engin turned off find fuse or take the solionoid out and place across12v and see if plunger pops in and out .

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Mine does the same thing-- I cold start it, and whenever I come to a complete stop, it idles low, the car starts to shake, and eventually shuts off. I end up having to put it in park (in the middle of the road, might I add!) and start it back up. The dealer and everywhere else I've taken it doesn't know what's wrong with it. I'm desparate-- any suggestions?

the throttle valve is clean? what is the opening angle at idle (in percent).
how much was the injection time?
air mass sensor reading value?

One of the first things I would check is the overload protection relay. As the relay begins to go bad resistance builds across the contacts and becomes the limiting factor in the supply of current to the idle valve instead of the ecm. This situation causes the idle valve to fail to open fully.

OVER VOLTAGE RELAY FOR SURE BUT CHECK IDLE SPEED CONTROLER ALSO...HAD ON LAST MONTH IT WAS O/V/ RELAY
