wondering if the new c 230 2008 grille will fit on my 2006 230 and are any modifications needed?????

I don't think it will fit. The new 08's are wider than the W203s. It's probably like trying to fit a W202 grille onto a W201, you've got to customize the hood to work with the grille.
But either way this thread's getting moved into the C-Class forum. It'll get more views and more responses to help you out. Should be receiving an email about the movement soon.
