please help speedometer won't work

hello guys,

i am new in this forum and just joined today. i recently bought a 1989 - 190 E 2.6 L auto completely stock mercedes yesterday..

well the problem that i am having with it is that the speedometer wont work.. can anybody help me how to fix this... is there any disconecter in the wheels or in the tranny that the other guy( ex owner) disconected because maybe didnt want the miles to roll???

Most likely cause is the wearing of the plastic gears in the speedometer which is a common cause of odometer and speedometer failure. Pull the speedoneter and send it out for repair.. Check the cable as well.

Theres a cable running from your speedo to the side of yours transmission. It could be that your cable is dissconnected, stretched or broken or your speedo could be broken.
