New or Used ? E220cdi

A bit of a novice at buying cars and I have not had a mercedes before but Im planning on buying an E220 cdi. The plan is to buy a 1 year old vehicle, is it a wise choice, or false economy, and would buying new be more advantageous. It seems a good deal to buy used considering the warranty etc.

Any advice will be appreciated.
