Hello to everyone, I was surfing and found this site, it seems to have a wealth of information. I'm thinking of buying a '99 C280 Sport. Does this model have any known problems/weak spots?

Check out the forum for C Class- there is a lot of information regarding C280s there.

that every model got some problem on different areas. the may start from loose bulb contacts to control units. just can't avoid them.
