Hi,
I have a 1988 300 sel, it won't start. Here is my story:
I was driving to work when is was raining badly, went over some big puddles that went over the hood, the next morning car won't start. There is a new starter in place(put in before this happened), but when i turn on the ignition, nothing. the lights inside the car work, radio still works, so i don't think it could be electrical. what could it be??? need soee help asap. thanks

Sounds like you drowned the engine. There are many possibilities, If water got into the intake, you could have seized the engine, but it ran after you hit the puddles, but still possilbe. Do you have a distributor cap on that car, if so open it and get a can of air and blow it dry, I believe back in those days there were some sort of computer interface in cars, you could have drowned this. Try the distributor first, if the car won't start then have it towed to a good shop, also check the sparkplutgs wires pull one it see if it is wet. If you live in a warm climate openthe hood for a couple of days.
