Looking to purchase a cdi, import questions

I have a few questions and i was wondering if anyone can help me. I'm looking to import a cdi e series (2005) from the States into Toronto Canada, I spoke to a local mercedes dealer and to have the car legal for the road it could cost between 3 to $5000, however they failed to mention exactly what needed to be changed. I'm sure daytime running lights would be mandatory. Could anyone provide some information as to what needs to be changed and the best ways to go about this

I'm certain the Canadian Ministry of Transportation has the specifics...I've seen it posted before.  DRLs are likely programmed "on" at the dealership.  I suspect the speedometer would need to show KMH (vs. MPH).
