Hello All,

I''m looking to get an SL, possibly a 64 through 68 230 with MT.

I would like to hear some advise from owners or general know how on what to look out for in this type of car. I would like to stay within my original budget of 25K and would preffer an european model rather than a US spec car, since I do not like the lights added on the sides as well as the headlights on the US version.

So... what should I look out for? What are the big issues with these cars? What are the trouble points I want to avoid?

Also, what were the original color combos for these cars? What were the available interior and exterior colors?

Thanks in advance,
Andres G

I''ve driven about a dozen of these older cars in the past, and most of them ran poorly.  Maybe they simply were in need of a tune-up, or maybe the fuel injection was not setup properly.  I think I remember one car in particular simply had a throttle linkage that was out of adjustment.

The other possible concern is rust.  These cars are highly prone to it.
