Intermitent oxygen sensor light trouble!?!

Hi i have just recently bought a benz 300E, and the oxygen sensor light stays on after i start the car, after the car gets warm it eventualy goes away, and sometimes it comes back...Does anyone have an idea on what this can be related to, or how to fix the problem?
