There is now doubt that almost every owner of an S 500 and CLK have this cluster problem , it starts with loss of back light on the speedometer area and , lights flashing on -off then complete silence .
MB USA issued a selective recall , MB Canada ( complete silence ) , many owners are not included in this recall and we are talking a cost of $1500- $2000 , How fare it is for an owner who is not covered to pay for a problem Acknowledged by the manufacturer , but some local dealer try not to honor it simply because your Vin # is not specified .
I think it is not fair , what do you think and what do you suggest for an effective action ?
Mine is 2000 with only 68K rarely driven very well kept , still did not prevent the multiple of problems it had , all of which reflect a real poor quality of parts for such a presigeous vehicle ?????
