My instrument cluster keeps blowing fuses, replace and works a thousand miles or 5 miles and goes again. Any ideas for a quick fix?

only to find out what causes the high current first. maybe short circuit?

was it the fuse no.10 or 14?

#10, all gauges go to zero. clock works, but nothing else. It may go a month or so and work fine, then, it goes out.

It turns out the fuses were blowing due a short in the third brake light. 3 hrs. and 160.00 took care of it.

Im currently having the same problem ..except my fuses are not blown out. what else could cause this problem? #10 fuse and 14 are still intact. IS there another area where fuses are keep besides in the engine bay? and trunk?

My mechanic found a short in the 3rd tail light (trunk lid) that was the problem. He fixed that .75 for the wire and $263 in time to trace the problem. Hope that helps.
