Another new face(?) here.
Ride is a 99 C230K Starmark purchase abt 1 year ago. Current miles 122,000. Commute about 150 miles daily.
Great dealer support in Western Massachusetts and the South Shore where I work.
Still get's 30 MPG day in and day out.
Only 'major' repair is the front wheel bearings.
Great car !

Sure do !!
I moved from Chicopee last November. Used to live in the Fairview section of town off Route 33.

Small world, I live in Chicopee Falls, off of East Main ST. About 3/4 the way up to the old golf course, which was one of the best 9 hole courses around.

i bet both of you must have crossed path somewhere around those intersections.

although alan cannot swing that golf club well anymore, you both can still get a nice beer and conversation.

Yes, I can't swing the gold clubs any longer, but a beer sounds good. Sleepwalker I have a question: I was detailing my engine yesterday and I took the plastic enginer cover off. sitting on top of the manifold is a rectangle shaped box that is connected by a rubber hose to the air intake pipe. I looked it up on my parts list and it is called a damper part number 112 140 00 87 what does it dampen?

Thanks!

Thanks all for the nice welcome and the nice worldwide forum.
Allan, we'll have to get together sometime.
We need to attend a graduation at Elm's College next weekend.

it is for the intake Allan.

for some unknown reason, i also don't know why they have to muffle the intake sound on your model.

in BMW Z8, i saw they even make a tunnel to the driver's compartment just to make this gurgling sound more defined! they put a diaphgram inside to transmit it more effectively. a very opposite way.

if your engine is fitted on S-Class, that damper is omitted.
