I own a 89 Mercedes 190E 2.4. I took her in to a bootlegg mechanic and when he returned her to me she will no longer go over 55MPH. When she reaches over 55 she hesitates until she slows back down to 55
any ideas???

There is no way to tell from what information you've given us. Try to get really detailed as to what the mechanic did and exactly how the car runs right now. There must of been something wrong for you to take it to be worked on to begin with right?

Check your Mercedes Benz dealer. There is some mechanism for maximizing speed and it's just a setting. Not sure if it was around in 1989 though.
