... by aliens? Not aliens from Mexico or Greenland or such, but the extraterrestrial ones. Just wondering.

NO!
If there are aliens about, why don't they just visit the White House,10 Downing Street, or the Kremlin (do the Russians still have their federal government at the Kremlin?)

i was abducted by my girlfriend when i was in high school.
in my countryside, there was nothing but open space with billions of stars to see.
during my low moments, i lay down on open field waiting for one of those UFO's (which i can see many) to get me.
it never happens.
i need their technology on how to develop a car which can hoover on the air instead of having wheels and run on the road.
i simply need the plan on how to defy gravity.
i want to get rich and famous (whichever comes first).

First of all, why would aliens go to those places? Second, what makes you think they haven't?

Was your girlfriend an alien? I've met a few spacey ladies in my time, so I wonder.

Am I an ET? Good question.

I suppose what I should have said was, if aliens are in the business of abducting, why is it always country folk that get abducted? Why don't they abduct-oh, I don't know, someone like Tom Brokaw, or Charlie Rose. No, its always folks from rural places and often not well educated- or so it seems.

i know that sometimes you were peeping inside your meade telescope (mine isn't that powerful).
have you ever seen something unusual moving up there?

I think they're referred to as "unbalanced." But they live in cities as well. There's a sleep disorder that may explain most abduction stories. A sleep disorder that doesn't strike only rural folk.
If we shot a directory into outer space listing people ETs should abduct and put Tom Brokaw's and Charlie Rose's name in it, who knows what would happen? Maybe they would cooperate? If ETs came here, why would they be interested in them anyway? I guess you're assuming their society would be the same as ours and that they too have network news anchors and television with news at 6 and 11 pm? Also, that they would want to broadcast their presence through a network news anchor? Or be interviewed by them because they're good at it?
If you were plopped into some alien area and didn't want to be noticed, like the middle of a populated area of China or Russia, would you confront an organized force of many (like a government) or individuals in the countryside where the odds are much better that it would be a safe contact for you?

I never saw anything unusual, so I sold it.

He makes a very good point.

Yes, but why don't they want to be noticed? What’s your assumption about their purpose? Perhaps they are like environmentalists who don't want to drill in pristine wildness areas for fear of corrupting the existing order of things? I just assume that if they are complex carbon based life (carbon based life being the only life that could exist if the laws of physics are consistent through out the universe-which they appear to be-or so I’m told) and they can “get it together” enough to build a space ship and visit earth, they’d want to say, “Hi” on a big scale. But that's my supposition I guess.

I have no assumptions. That's my point. Maybe they want to be noticed, but maybe not. I have no idea at all. I'm just saying if they didn't, it would be easy to hide, so why assume they've never been here just because they never abducted Tom Brokaw?
We're a pretty violent civilization on this planet. We solve most of our problems, international and local, through wholesale extermination of our kind. We usually shoot first and then extend our friendship. This information is as easy to obtain as any about us. I wouldn't blame ETs for avoiding us. Why would they want to go to war with us, even if they could win easily? They want our oil? Okay, sorry.

You're damn right we do!

you got a problem with that fella?
Better safe than sorry then, eh?
Oh, h-ll, I just don't believe in UFO's. It's not that I don't believe it's possible, it's just that I'd assume after all these years, the aliens would screw up and a family member would get photos of the abduction. But all we have is abductees reporting things like
a loss of time, mysterious markings on their body, bad dreams, and new paranormal experiences after abduction. Some say, the aliens give them the impression their intentions are evil, while others say they seem to be friendly and only inquisitive
Plus, SETI (Search for extraterrestrial intelligence) hasn’t identified spaceships in our region-or any other region for that matter. Call me a skeptic but I’m willing to be persuaded.

I don't believe any have been here either, but I won't say there's absolutely no intelligent ETs out there somewhere. We probably won't get any more than a message in our lifetimes, if anything. The distances between stars are just too vast and the probability of encountering a planet with intelligent life are astronomical if you just started driving your spacecraft in some random direction. The odds are just against a physical encounter. SETI is the way to go for us, but SETI is listening to just a fraction of the radio wave spectrum. They could be missing a lot.
I don't believe any of that abduction stuff. Like I said, it's most likely a sleep disorder. It's mass hysteria in some cases. Desparate attempts at getting attention, too.

i do belive in ET.
they said there were billions of stars up there.
on those stars, there must be planets.
on one of those planets, there must be some living things.
sometimes i think JOHN TITOR do exist too. i will find that out when i reach 70 years old.

There's life out there somewhere, I'm sure. Whether it's life that has figured out how to manufacture and use toilet paper is another question.

i wonder how they can find those life in other world if they cannot find osama bin laden on earth yet.
