I have owned my E500 since inception and it has recently started giving me problems with starting when it is hot.  If I let it sit for 30-60 ninutes it will usually start... anyone have any ideas?

ohloard you are awsome... I own an E500 2003 - is the Crank position sensor the sensor that is mounted on the front left(pass side) of the block... and is it a big deal to replace...

That''s the cam sensor on the front of the pass cylinder head. The crnk sensor is on the bell housing about 1 oclock position looking to the rear of the engine and with the hood popped all the way up and a good flashlight you can lean in and see it.sort of behind and to the center of the rear of the engine by the drivers side cylinder head.Easy diy ,just tight space.
another good diy on benzworld.org  w210 diy section.
