Any body knows the possible causes for back up light in 98 E320 not working? Non of my back up lights come on when I shift the gear to reverse. I checked all the bulbs and they are fine. I do not beleive the fuses are bad. Is the back up light switch located on the transmission or some where else? I took apart the middle compartment by the gear shift apart but the only switch I see thert is RP valve. I apprecaite any hlp to diagnose the problem.

The backup light switch is part of the ESM (Electronic Shifter Module). Did you check to see if you have voltage at the socket? If so, then chances are...your problem is the ESM...
