Alright everyone, I'm not a big poster, but a lurker. I accidentally put one of my keys in the wash a little over a year ago. After letting it dry it would only lock and unlock the car, but now its lifeless. I'm taking the key and car to the dealership at the end of this month and was wondering if they could tell if the key had been washed. I was wondering if the warranty would over this? I was just going to tell the dealer that it just stopped working and not mention that it dropped in the water. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

If they open the remote up, they will be able to see water damage. You should open it up and clean all corrosion, and replace the battery. Unit will probable work correctly then.
