drivers door trim removal S280 1995 model

Please can anybody help me on how to remove door trim from 1995 S280.I want to replace drivers door check strap which is making a horrible noise on opening door.I think there are concealed screws under the wood veneer panel is there a nack to removing this without splitting the wood.
Iwould appreciate any help from members.

Did you try lubricating the door check strap at the pivots? If I am thinking of the same part that is on my 99 C280 which is metal and attached to the pivot of the jam and inside the door.

pull off trim around inside door handle,,got srcew behind there ,,the panel got push in clips ..so the panel doesnt have to be lifted up..
