I used Autoglym's fabric roof cleaner and conditioner the other week and am delighted with the results. I cleaned the whole roof initially then rinsed it with the hose. Then I set to work on all the stains. Numerous applications, rubbing in with the sponge then rinsing off, shifted the marks, then I did the same around the door gutters and where the hood meet the boot (trunk) which was moss stained. Four or five applications and it looked better, but not perfect. The next morning I used the conditioner/proofer all over and, suddenly, the whole thing looks stunning - back to it's new dark black colour. The moss staining is all but invisible and I think the proofer seals the surface and kills the moss. My car lives outside, and three weeks later, it's still looking perfect and when wet, the water bobbles and runs off (just like freshly waxed paintwork) and the material doesn't get saturated like it used to. Bird poo rinses off easily too.
At £30, its not cheap, but I'd recommend it. You just need a warm but not sunny day, unless you can work in the shade / under cover. It is best to mask off the paintwork and glass before applying the conditioner / proofer, as its difficult to remove if you get it on the paintwork.

Thanks for that advise. Have used this product before, but refrained from using the conditioner as i was afraid that it would leave the hood plastic looking.

No, it doesn''t give a glossy finish at all, just darken''s the colour.
