I just went to Montreal to get my new cluster installed.
On the way back in the traffic the 'Check Engine' lights up in my new cluster.
Could it be something that has occured during the installation.
This light never came on before.
Thank-You.

did you get it from the dealer??? the cluster needs to be coded for your car.

The cluster was coded at the Mercedes SilverStar  dealership in Montreal.
I looked up on the net and it says that can sometimes happen with bad gas.
I put 64 litres of gas before I got the cluster changed at Ultramar which normally has good gas.
I'm trying to understand could it be the gas or a problem when they changed the cluster? Any ways I will try to go back to see the dealer tomorrow and keep you posted. When I bought a Mercedes E320 4 Matic I thought it would be a great car but I've had cluster problem, sensor problem, gas gage problem,Check Engine light. I had a PT cruiser before and didn't think by changing it wold bring me so many problems. This car is Xtra clean inside and out and had 1 owner and only 84000 km's. I hope I'm having all these problems at the beginning and that it should be reliable after...

Went back to the dealer today and they hooked up the car on the portable car computer. They found an error code in the system and just reprogrammed the car and the 'Check Engine' light dissapeared.

Did they reset your comp for free? How much did it cost?

The cluster was installed by an independant Mercedes/BMW garage but was programmed at the Mercedes dealership in Montreal.
For the verification when I went back it was at the independeant garage. They verified the check engine light problem and made it disappear for free. It took about 5 minutes .
