Here's an article that discusses a subject that most of us seem to face.  It's not a pleasant thought.

the article is little misleading, you can always go to a junkyard or some other place and get replacement parts a lot cheaper.

I agree on the junk yard....some people can, but the average person out there plus some pretty sharp technicians  will never be able to get them in and get them working.
Personally I won't buy another luxury car unless I can purchase a bumper to bumper 100,000 mile warranty.  I'm not even sure that is available.  I asked about getting an extended warranty on my 430 S after I had had it about 14 months and they wouldn't sell it to me. I thought most manufacturers would sell the extended if the car was still under the original warranty.  But, Benz wouldn't do it.  I guess that told me a little about their confidence in what they had sold:-)  They offered an aftermarket warranty for about $3,500 but couldn't make any promises about how good the coverage was...so why were they selling it?

A flood car can be a nightmare, you have to remember all the electronics under the rear seat and low down in the car. If it was salt water it is worse, If it turns out well congrads.....warranty would not help anyway. I would put the money in the bank for your needs later!
