C240 - Driver's side lock issue

I have a 2003 C240 - This problem started yesterday - When you lock or unlock the doors, the driver's side door lock bounces up and down probably 5 times before locking/unlocking (it still works though?).  It also does it when you take off from park (when it normally locks).  ????

I have 2003 C230 had same problem Replaced driverside door lock assembly fixed the problem. Lock assem $117.00 or so plus new rivets for the air bag in door and window track left side assembly which you need to drill out to slide window track out of the way to fit new assy in. This is not an easy replacement. Very difficult even if you are very mechanicaly inclined and have a wide variety of tools at your disposal and have some experience with these elements- inner door panel removal, door lock assembly/Replacement and window track assembly.not to mention a special tork screwdriver for door handle.

As SpecialK mentioned. Your going to need a new door lock/latch assembly. If your're going to attempt to DIY, you should have the proper tools (torx screwdivers, pop rivet gun, and basic wrenches and sockets). Take notes of how you disassembled it (take photos if you have to). One of the MB mechanics said it would take approx. 2hrs. It took me the better part of 3hrs. to finish the job.
If you get fustrated easily, I would get someone else to do it.

Thanks for the info!!  I will probably just let the dealership take a look at it next time I go in for service (unless it quits locking).  I also have a SRS light that came on a couple weeks ago!  All of this happens a month after I have it in for service, go figure!!
