Something's wrong with that link. I get just a song, a bunch of error messages, or nothing at all.

Lugnut- I do not wish to attack your position in any way, just to understand what you are saying better. For confirmation, are you saying that it is better to attack a possibly hostile nation before they attack us? If so, are you also saying that if our president decided to wage war on every country known to be harboring terrorists or in possesion of WMD, that you would support him? If so, would you also agree that any country, in the future, would very likely in some point in time be considered a threat to the US, and that we should speed up the process and deal with them now, while we are still a superpower?

I think my position is obvious. Attack those who have attacked or threaten to attack us. Take the conflict to them. For example, I hate Foo~ance but wouldn't attack them just because they possess WMD.
So, how do you think we should deal with terrorism? Keep in mind that trying to ridicule Bush or conservative policies, while at times entertaining, is in no way a deterent to terrorism. Suffice it to say that you wouldn't do all the same things, maybe none of the same things, that the Bush administration has done. I'm okay with that. I'm open to new and better ideas. The ball's in your court.
How would you protect America and her interests abroad?

presidential 2004 second debate

why does kerry don't just answer the questions directed to him straightly?
he attacks President G.W. Bush all the time.

Kerry got so spanked by people calling him a flip-flopper that he had to do something in retaliation. He started calling Bush a liar. He figures if he says it enough times, he'll believe it. It's a sophomoric debating and political campaigning technique. In other words, he's desperate and lashing out as best he can, like a high school punk.

John Kerry is just a dumbass.
He wants to provide social benefits to the general public, including health care. But he also promise not to raise tax for people making less than $200,000 a year.
Does he really think there are enough rich people to pay for all his bullshit?
John Kerry needs to know where IRS get their money (so he can stop lying infront of the World) and the White House isn't the place to learn high school stuff.

Yup, you're right. All his positions are similar. He uses what sounds best from every position on every issue. He morphs based on his audience du jour. Tell 'em what they want to hear to win their votes. It doesn't matter which side of an issue it lands him on. He just takes the other side when the heat is turned up. John Kerry's candidacy is about John Kerry.
If he becomes president, he won't do anything but work on looking pretty to the global community. He wants to take his $100 poodle haircut on a world tour of ass kissing.
He's an elitist. A global elitist. He'll never roll up his sleeves to do any real work. He never has after 20 years as a senator and he won't start if he becomes president. He's a pansy on a collision course and he's willing to take the USA down with him.

It's Bush, no doubt.
Kerry will say/do anything to be elected, yet he has never done anything of note in the US Senate; was a member of the Intelligence committee, yet hardly ever showed up. If the intelligence about Iraq was so wrong, Kerry was on the Committee which was supposed to be watching things, so where was he?
All I hear from Kerry is "Bush cut taxes for the rich"; yet I went to the IRS web site, and it shows that the top 1%, ranked by income, pay 35% of the Federal income taxes collected, and the bottom 50% pay less than 4%. If you aren't paying Federal income taxes, you don't get a tax cut; how do you cut zero? I certainly never heard this from CBS or CNN, it only took me 5 minutes to get the facts, though. Maybe Dan Rather didn't pay his internet provider bill.
Democrats seem to be trying to take advantage of the uninformed to try to get them to vote for them, yet I don't see a plan except for more welfare and tear down America.

Actually, there is a way to "cut zero" as you put it. There are certain tax credits that are called refundable tax credits. The most well known is the Earned Income Credit. It's often erroneously called the Child Care Credit. For working people who have children and earn less than a certain amount, there can be a refund of taxes... that were NOT paid at all. Politicians always mention which side of the fence they graze on concerning Earned Income Credit because they can pander to certain voters.

Anyone who believes that GW was straight with the American people in regard to Iraq has been sleeping at the wheel. Anyone who doesn't believe that GW would like the country solidly in the hands of Christofascists has been sleeping at the wheel. Kerry may be a far cry from what I'd like to see in the White House (John McCain, anyone?) but I'll take a decidedly shaky unknown over a proven failure any day. What is it that Bush admirers see in this man? Is it his massive intellect, his awe-inspiring communication skills, his solid judgement and candor? These are the qualities I want in a POTUS, not some good ol' boy who wants to go duck hunting on the weekends.

well, at least you all got better president compared to ours.
during that second debate where kerry was attacking Bush, i can see Bush's facial expression and can almost read his mind, something like.... "let's go outside and get over with it"
i can almost see that he start rolling up his sleeve.

All politicians lie, including John Kerry. He needs to come up with something better than just stating the obvious, like what would he do better than Bush if he were president.
Apparently, all he can come up with are statements like:
>I can do better, even though I've never done anything for America during my whole life. I know I can do better. Bush misleads America. It takes management.
>I will schedule summits with our enemies. They will come because I am a poodle and it's the global thing to do. I will make them feel good by being sensitive. I know I can do better. Bush misleads America. It takes management.
>I will kill terrorists without spending our money or using our soldiers because I'm, well, me. I know I can do better. Bush misleads America. It takes management.
>I will charm Foo~ance and Germany, but especially Foo~ance, with my haircut and manicure. TerEEESSa says if I don't, then "no nookie always." I know I can do better. Bush misleads America. It takes management.
>I will get permission from the UN before taking a pee. I will form a coalition before taking a dump. I know I can do better. Bush misleads America. It takes management.
Bush would kick Kerry's ass in the parking lot. He'd put a few wrinkles in Kerry's Botox'd face. Probably knock that phony tan off, too.

What ever happened to cmscott16? I was expecting a reply of some sort from him.
Anyway, I watched the debate last night. I don't understand why people say Kerry comes across as relaxed, confident , and comfortable in these debates. He's one of the most unnatural looking still-breathing humans I've ever seen. His half-dead face and labored body movements are unnerving.
I've always had this odd feeling while I watch him speak. I finally figured out why.
You know that funny feeling you get when you watch a movie special effect that just isn't quite right? The space ship scooting through space that doesn't quite match the background movement, for example? You can tell it's phoney. You know that comedy routine where someone stands behind a person who's speaking and pokes their arms around the speaker and makes hand gestures that don't quite match what's being said? The head moves that way, the arms move the other way. Extraneous movements. That sort of thing.
It's like his hands say one thing while his mouth says something else. This is how Kerry speaks. He flails like a girl trying to box or an octopus with extra tentacles. His arms are everywhere but where they should be. He'll probably slap himself someday.
It's symbolic of his political style. Misdirect people with is mouth while he picks your pocket with his hands.

he is a true misleading person.
everytime i look at him, it seems that i am looking at half breed frankenstein and a junkie who still got hangover.
he got some sort of facelift before, but now it seems to be sagging like tits.
cmscott musy be a pro kerry

...... where are you our good friend? still underneath the hood doing troubleshooting?

Botox. That's why his face looks unnatural. His face used to have more wrinkles and be more animated. Half of the muscles in his face aren't working right now. I'd like to walk up to him and ask, "John, why the long face?"
It wouldn't look as bad if it didn't drape under his perfect hair. That droopy dead-face doesn't go with the preppie poodle hair. I won't even mention his phoney tan-in-a-jar again... or his manicures.
When he smiles he looks like he's trying to rush a bowel movement.
Kerry is having a love affair with himself. He needs to be honest with himself before he convinces me that he will be honest with Americans and other peoples of the world.

Tah-ray-zuh Heinz Kerry, dizzy wife of the graduating bunny rabbit above, claims that she has a cure for arthritis. No, it's not the embryonic stem cells that John Edwards claims will cure all diseases known to man while John Kerry is president (and if Kerry doesn't become president, they won't).
The First Lady wannabe says to soak white raisins in gin for two weeks, then eat nine raisins per day. She stresses this only works with white raisins. Um, sure, okay.
Wouldn't it work better if you just drank the gin and threw the white raisins over your left shoulder after each sip? This method would also work with Scotch and Jack Daniels if you don't like gin or white raisins. And your favorite beer, too. Or Mogan David, if you're not a billionaire ketchuphead and can't afford the good stuff.
I'll bet she's fun to be around at a backyard BBQ, as long as it's not in the Rose Garden.

when is the election date?
is my candidate winning?
Lugnut
10/17/2004 7:17:04 AM
Election day is Tuesday, November 2. Sixteen days from today.
The various polls have the race even, with some polls giving Bush a slight one-digit lead. All the poll results are within their respective margins of error, so it's most correct to say that the race is too even to call at this point.
