I got 93 300se 3.2 and I changed the head gasket , didnot do the 3rd stage 90 deg. turn on head bolt and water got into oil and camshaft broke , I noticed the chain was runing a bit loud,
I am trying to see what else I have damaged,  any thought would be greatly appriciated, I notice when engine was running I didnot have any OIL presure and I thought may it was because I didnot connect the sensor properly. (I was wrong).

so not sure if I damaged the pistons or Valves or the hydrolic lifters.

thanks again

I do not think you can put the gasket upside down, the are two long washer were the bolt go and with those in place , you can only put the gasket on one way. ( You are making me second guess now) I had half a gallon of water in the engine within few minutes and oil was coming out from the rear and front of the head.
The tensioner went on okay, just put the outer part first and pushed in the inner part. I noticed the tensioner does not go back once is pushed out.
is this normat. the inner spring circling the inner cyliner stops it from playing.

what do you think about the hydrolic valve adjuster.(not sure the proper name).?

thank you for your time.

today I removed the broken cam and I noticed two of the intake valves on cycl#2 not moving back.  any ideas what broke in there.
also noticed the cam on c280 1994 has same part # and 1993 3.2 300 se.
Question is , do they use same Head?

please help.
