A friend of mine bought a 2006 CLS500 last year. He would like to hook up his cell phone with the phone system via the bluetooth function. We tried so many times without any luck.
On the COMMAND in the car, there is a Bluetooth function and it does search for any devices with bluetooth on. According to the manual, search has to be done on both COMMAND and mobile phone. However, sometines, they cannot find each other:
(1) SamSung phone can find COMMAND, but COMMAND cannot find the Samsung,
(2) the COMMAND can find Motorola, but Motorola cannot find the COMMAND
(3) Nokia phone is the only one that they can find each other
In any above case, when we sent a connection signal (set any code we want, according to the manaul) from one to the other, the other side DOES response, show "connected" for a few seconds after entering the code, then "Not connected". I suspect it is communication software problem. Do you have any clue?
We went to the dealer a few times and the dealer knows no more than I do. I asked for technical support in China or even in Germany and the dealer told me that nobody can help me on this. The dealer told us that most car owners feel so frustrated and just give up!
I read a lot of postings on bluetooth in this forum. Someone suggested to go to
www.eurocarphone.com. They sell a kit for Mercedes. However, seems they are all about models older than 2004. Therefore, I suspect that the newer models have this problem solved.
In comparison, Japanese cars are much more user-friendly. We tried both Lexus RX350 and Acura MDX, and both can be connected in a few minutes!
Could anybody please give me more hints? Thanks a lot!
