I just came off a 24 day vacation, remember. (And spent over 4 grand, shipped the Benz, Got a restoration deal for the BMW, and looking for either a CL500, 750iL, 1995-1999 S600, 1994-1995 E500, or SL500, or 1995-1999 pre-Ford XJ12, one of them with a plot of land on the side.)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Ford bought Jaguar in 1989.

Yeah but they didn't really start to screw em over until pretty recently. Trust me, I'm not too quic kabout rushing to go out and buy one. If Ford wouldn't have bought them, there would be no debate or question, I would have a XJ12 next to the Benz no questions asked, but it all depends on how extensive have Ford messed with Jaguar. Just as BMW owned Roll-Royce (at least the rights to the emblem) for a while now, but left them almost as it was until the Phantom. Just as Chrystler didn't see Benz parts until a few years after. Now some their cars are half Benzes. What I mean is that I'm looking for a Jaguar that looks, and feels like a Jaguar. Unlike the X-type that feels more Volvo than anything. Or the S-Type, nice looking car but it rides, feels, and even smells like a small Lincoln such as the LS. And they are starting to tinker with the XJ more and more to the point that it's no longer a Jaguar, just a Ford with cat symbols on it.

So far here is the order, with the land on the side. And I would enjoy any experiences with any of the Benzes and or other cars on this list from anyone. Especially the 1994-1995 E500 (pre-Frog eyes.), there seem to be little info about em I guess because of the rarity.

750iL
E500
S600
CL500
XJ12
SL500

What do u want to know about the 500E. Cause here i assume u already know that they were made in colaberation with Porsche.
I was searching websites earlier today and saw one for sale when i find it again i will post the link for u man.

The true specs to start off with. And screw that 0-60 mph thing, who cares. I want 0-100 mph numbers. Something that matters. I want to know how does it rides in compare to something like the regular E420/E320s of them 1994-1995 years. And of course the trouble spots, if it has any. And if the car is not near the Atlanta, GA, Memphis TN or Austin, TX area, then it's useless. I never buy a car with going to see it in person and driving it.

Yeah I know it was colaberation with Porsche. That what's makes this car so intriguing.

Well here is a start http://www.mercedesshop.com/500e.htm. The car that i saw online was located in CA so i guess its no good to u. I have an orginal test on them from when they first came out but i have no idea where that magazine is at packed away in a box somewhere i presume. Kinda funny though how i saw one forsale then i see that ur looking to get one though. Also as far as the older pre-ford jaguars go they started messing with them the most in 1995 when the newer body style came out and from what i have heard ford buying them is the best possible thing that could have happened to them because jaguars from the early 80s till the 95's are known to have tons of problems this comes from the people i know that are experts on 1970s, 1980s and 90s european cars. I would guess u have heard all the British car wiring jokes but they are only funny because they are true.

Ah and you see why I want a 1995-1999 Jaguar. They solved most of reliablity problems. Now with that solved, the question is what have they done to Jaguar prestige recently? I don't want a luxury car that says Jaguar but feels like the Volvo or god forbid a Five Hundred or some other low totem pole Ford product. Just as when I buy a Mercedes, I expect it to feel act, look and ride and perform like a Mercedes, not a Chrysler. Just as when I drive a Cadillac, I don't want to feel too much Chevy in it. Or Cadillac would be useless and might as well save ten or fifteen thousand and buy a Chevy with change left over. (R.I.P. 1995/1996 Cadillac Fleetwood.)

Sounds like this event has gone poorly at some time in the past.....

Well as far as the S-type goes it rides on the same platform as the LS and the Ford Thunderbird.

I figured that. No wonder it feels like an LS. Don't even feel like Jaguar. Feels like a Ford in a suit off the rack with a little bit of silk in the tie.

Well I don't think guilt will work too much against them people that bring nothing but eat anyways. Half of them know that. The other half may feel a little sorry later, but after they quench the hunger, then they move on to the next food event. Then again, some people don't bring nothing and don't intend to eat nothing until the the host basically begs them to stop being an outsider and grab a plate. And then you have them people that don't bring nothing but always leave with the platters of food. I'm sure someone will bring ice and or the water.
Physical abuse, isn't that like assault? And verbal abuse? Better not bring ouut the dominoes or start a Spades game, especially with the drunk young thundercat that thinks he can hustle everyone in any card game but don't know a club from a diamond. That's just asking for it.

I think everyone beeen to a cook out that have gone wrong. Even family ones. Sad when someone gets shot over a pork rib. Or family fighting like a pack of rabid pitbulls because someone played the wrong suit and refuse to give up three books. And there is nothing like husband and wife bringing home drama to the cook out. Solves nothing but make both of them look like idiots.

They haven't gone poorly. But there were a few people that didn't bring enough food for everyone, so it sucked in a way. People that said they were going, and said what they were bringing, and didn't show. The first one I held was spectacular. The 2nd...tons of people, but wasn't as smooth!

my grandfather makes good "tapas" out of it.

with more than 20 storms every year, we can survive eating rice and tapa when fish, poultry and vegetables are not available.

Don't think I ever had tapas before, not even while I was in Korea. Would like to try it.

I'll be at the NHRA drags that Sunday in Jersey. I am flying out with some friends to see the event and to see my brother who is living in King of Prussia, PA that weekend. Just close enough to smell the hot dogs.

There's a place called King of Prussia in PA?

Man, that's a nice name for a city. Or a street. Or a driveway.
